Gallery

External Entrance Area

The external entrance has a lean to roof to protect the front door from rain.

This is equipped with sensor controlled l.e.d. bulkhead lighting and a cctv camera for security purposes.

Entrance Hall

The entrance hall has a wheelchair accessible ramp and anti-slip washable floor plus an Radiator.

The Wardens Office is located in the Entrance Area.

Notices and information about The Gladstone Centre can be found in the entrance area.

A Smoke Detector and Fire Extinguishers are also located here.

Note: Please ensure muddy footwear is left under the canopy outside please.

Main Hall

The main hall has approx. 60% carpet and 40% washable anti-slip flooring, whilst above there are sensor controlled l.e.d. panel lights and optional accent lights that can be used during presentations.

There are plenty of electrical sockets around the perimeter of the room and a wi-fi signal for Group Leaders.

Fabric covered chairs and melamine tables are provided for indoor use only on the carpeted area.

Additional wipe clean foldable chairs for use with the Go-Pak tables for dining and craft purposes on the anti-slip floor area. These must be stored in the room at the rear of the main hall when not in use.

An overhead projector with v.g.a. and hdmi laptop connection plus an electric retractable screen are available for training purposes only. Sound can be played back through the four in-built speakers in the main hall via the stereo RCA to 3.5mm jack lead provided.

There are multiple thermostat-controlled radiators in the main hall which are run from the combination boiler in the kitchen when required.

A roller shutter serving hatch to the kitchen in the dining area can be closed off when not in use.

2 x Smoke detectors, Fire Extinguishers and Emergency Lighting is provided for your safety.

Emergency Push Bar Exit at the end of the Main Hall.

Please note the Hall LED panel lights have been fitted with dual sensors which turn off lights with a 12 minute countdown after last person is detected, to save on our energy costs.

Note: The store area at the rear of the main hall is for Warden and Gladstone Team use only and will normally be kept locked.

Kitchen

2 x Six ring LPG gas hob and ovens, LPG Plate Griddle and a LPG Grill

Note: The Ventilation system comprising and intake fan and Extract hood must be used when operating the LPG hobs, ovens or grills. The system has an interlock so if ventilation is not on, the gas supply is cut off.

An LPG grill, Microwave,  2 x  Kettles, Fridge freezer, electric urn.

Two large washing up sinks and a hand wash sink all with on demand hot water from the Combi-Boiler.

Open frame food storage adjacent to the hatch.

The kitchen has a washable anti-slip flooring with l.e.d. lighting.

The kitchen is fully equipped with approximately 30 plates, bowls, side plates, mugs and knives/forks/spoons/teaspoons.
These are now stored in a separate cupboard in the main hall to keep furry friends at bay.

A reasonable selection of pans, which are kept on new high level shelves along with utensils hung from the shelves to aid identification. Also we have a few can openers.

Users must bring their own sharp knives and cleaning materials.

A waste bin is provided and must be cleaned out when leaving and the bags disposed of in the Main bin located by the main gate.

The Insect Zapper must be switched on when the kitchen is in use.

Toilets and Showers

The Ladies have two toilet cubicles, one of which also contains a sink and shower, powered from the Combi Boiler. Access from inside or outside of the Centre.

The Gents have three toilet cubicles, one with a built-in sink, with three additional sinks in the main area and three urinals. Access from inside or outside of the Centre.

An additional toilet, with hand wash sink and floor shower plus curtain. This is wheelchair accessible and can be accessed from the entrance of the Main Centre.

The sinks in all the toilets have anti-scald devices fitted and there is constant hot water which is shared from the Combination Boiler in the kitchen.

Please note the new LED lights have been fitted with sensors which turn off after a 10 minute countdown after last person is detected to save on our energy costs.

Information for Building users

There is a cleaners cupboard which contains the brushes, mops and buckets, as well as a supply of cleaning materials to clean with at the end of your stay.

A sink, with hot and cold water taps in the toilet vestibule, can be used for the mop/buckets but please do remember to only use the correct mops and buckets for each of the areas. i.e. Toilets and Main Centre!

Please leave the buildings as you would wish to find them.

Please ensure you take ONLY your equipment when you leave the kitchen area, please respect all the equipment and report all damages or breakages to the warden before you leave.

Do not take any tables and chairs outside or onto the field area. We have a number of external tables and chairs available for such use. Please ask the Duty Warden.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
