Recycling

Since April 2024, the Welsh Government have made businesses change the way that they re-cycle. Although Gladstone Centre is a Charity, we still fall under the umbrella of a ‘business’.
Here at Gladstone Centre we now have to comply with the new legislation and that requires some changes to the way we dispose of any waste material from the site.
We now have four separate bins of varying sizes to hold the recycled material prior to it being picked up by ASH Waste, a commercial recycling company.
Please follow the signage when placing waste into the recycling bins. Failure to do so will mean a fine imposed on us, by Natural Resources Wales.
Bins are provided in each of the buildings for the following waste:
Glass
Clean Paper and Cardboard
Clean Plastic containers and small metal lids
General Waste including food contaminated packaging, Crisp Packets and Food Waste.
As we don’t generate more than 5Kg of food waste in any 7 consecutive days, it is allowable to put this in the General Waste Bin suitably wrapped up in a food waste bag.

At the end of each stay, please empty the bins in each building (where applicable) into the large bins located outside the Bunkhouse or up by the gate.
Spare clear bin liners , supplied and in the Cleaners Cupboard, should be used to replace those taken out.

Please do not dispose of batteries or any electrical/electronic items in any of the recycling containers. Take them home with you!
